SAFETY REGULATIONS
Draft in the chimney should never be less that 0.02 – 0.04 inches. always check with the gas company on appropriate supply pipe sizing. Always vent gas fumes. Unvented gas fumes can cause death to plants, animals and humans. Draft diverter must always be attached to the furnace VERTICALLY unless otherwise stated by manufacturer.
WARANTY WILL BE VOID if venting does not meet local codes. Exhaust fans in greenhouses or warehouses should run while heaters are operating. The chimney from the heaters to the draft cap should not be reduced in size. Always double wall chimney pipe on gas units. Use black iron pipe on natural gas units. NEVER use a line voltage thermostat.
The chimney height will be determined by the surrounding roof and trees. The chimney should extend at least 24″ above the high point of the roof with no obstructions from nearby roof, trees or other structures.
Trim or remove any nearby trees that would interfere with chimney draft.
